Analyzing Neuropsychiatric Disorders Through Immunology, Gene Expression and Neuroimaging

The theme of the ANTIGEN laboratory is to understand the relationship between immune function (or dysfunction) and the “higher level” neuroimaging abnormalities associated with mood disorders. To this end we combine state-of-the-art functional and high-resolution morphometric MRI techniques, genetic data (SNP chips) and immunological assays (FACS, in vitro challenges, microarrays, qPCR, autoantibody ELISAs, and cytokine bead arrays) to study the pathophysiology of mood disorders with an emphasis on bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder.
